Nanny/Housekeeper

Chill, relaxed, happy family looking to hire a Nanny/Family Assistant in Brooklyn, New York. Family would LOVE someone who speaks Chinese and English but it is not required.

The Ideal Candidate: Is able to work 10 hour days caring for a sweet little girl,  child’s meal preparation and feeding – helping child get to sleep / nap- bathing and dressing child- taking child outside and arranging playdates- dropping off / picking up for preschool, classes or other arranged activities- helping teach the child manners and boundaries- monitoring and supporting child’s physical and intellectual development- communicating with parents about child and work with them to set expectations and routines for child. Help with laundry, tidying up, cooking would be great when child isn't home or occupied.

We may at times ask the nanny-family assistant to work past 6:30pm, in which case we will compensate her properly for her time.

What Works Best for Family: We want someone who is personable, trustworthy, responsible and open to feedback. It is important to us that whoever we hire is able to take feedback well and learn new skills as needed.  We do have an allergy to nuts in the home, so whoever we hire needs to be allergy-aware. 

Requested Duration: Years! We are looking for someone whom we can trust and will stay with us long-term.

Current Staff: We currently employ a nanny and have been with her for almost 2 years, but we are looking for someone new as our child gets older and our family requires more than what she can offer. We have a housekeeper who comes to the home.

Position Responsibilities

• Childcare: 1 Children, Ages 2
• Housekeeping: Light Housekeeping Required
• Cooking: Help Start/Prep for Dinner,Family Meals ,Special Dietary Restrictions,
• Laundry: Family Laundry
• Errands:  Grocery Shopping

Position Requirements

• Work Hours: Monday-Friday-8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
• Languages: English and would LOVE a 2nd language
• Experience:  Years of Experience
• References: Minimum of 2 References
• Background: Pass stringent background checks and drug testing upon offer of hire
• Personality Traits: personable, trustworthy, someone who can have open conversations with and give and takes feedback well

Position Compensation

• Salary: $35 per hour ($1,750 per week)
• Living Accommodations: Live Out
• Vacation: 2 weeks – preferably when family is on vacation
• Health Insurance: No
• Additional Benefits: 3-5 sick days- federal holidays off and paid
