Mature Couple Seeking Experienced Full-Time Live-In Housekeeper – Dog Lover Preferred

Location: Lafayette Hill, PA (Primary) & Nantucket, MA (Summer)

Position Overview

A mature couple is looking for an experienced live-in housekeeper who loves dogs to join their household team in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. The home is located on a working farm. This position is primarily based in Pennsylvania but will relocate to Nantucket for the summer months.

The Ideal Candidate

We seek a flexible and dedicated housekeeper to join the household staff as a second housekeeper. The ideal candidate must love dogs and be comfortable caring for them, including overnight care when the couple is traveling. Responsibilities include daily housekeeping, laundry, ironing, maintaining outdoor living areas, and assisting with special cleaning projects in the winter.

The housekeeper will live in Lafayette Hill, PA, from April through Memorial Day, then relocate to Nantucket, MA, for the summer (Memorial Day–Labor Day), before returning to PA for the fall and winter months. During the winter, the role will focus on deep cleaning projects such as window and fixture cleaning.

The ideal candidate has a positive, can-do attitude, is professional, well-spoken, and proactive in anticipating the family’s needs. They must work well both independently and as part of a team, coordinating with other household staff.

About the Family

• Adults: 2
• Dogs: 3 Pugs
• Current Staff: The family manages three households with a team of household staff, including chefs, landscapers, caretakers, and housekeepers. The housekeeper must be able to work well with other staff while also being comfortable working alone when necessary.

Position Responsibilities

• Housekeeping: Vacuuming, dusting, silver care, bathrooms, linen changes, kitchen cleanup, and general tidying.
• Special Projects: Window and fixture cleaning, deep cleaning projects in the winter.
• Outdoor Maintenance: Sweeping and maintaining terraces and outdoor areas.
• Laundry & Ironing: Family laundry, including ironing.
• Serving: Assist with small dinner parties and family holiday gatherings.
• Errands: Occasional errands such as dry cleaning or post office runs.
• Driving: Car available for work-related tasks.
• Travel: Domestic travel required between PA and Nantucket.

Position Requirements

• Work Hours: Five days per week (40 hours), typically starting between 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM, with rotating weekends. Flexibility is required for occasional evenings, overnights (for dog care), and holidays.
• Languages: English
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• References: At least two professional references required.
• Personality Traits: Must have experience in a large home, be a team player, read a room well, and genuinely love and know how to care for dogs.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $38–$41 per hour
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision after 60 days (employee contribution required). Optional employee-paid disability, life, and accident insurance.
• 401(k): Eligible after one year of service, with a 3% employer match.
• Living Accommodations: Provided in both Pennsylvania and Nantucket. Staff vehicle available.
