Family Assistant Job Description – Vienna, VA

A warm and welcoming family of four in Vienna, VA, is looking for a Full-Time or Part-Time Family Assistant to support their busy household. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12 PM – 7 PM, with flexibility for occasional weekends, overnights, and date nights being a huge plus.

About the Family:

• Dad travels frequently for work.
• Mom is a stay-at-home mom looking for an extra set of hands.
• Two active and engaging children: a 7-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl.
• The family follows a gluten-free diet due to their son’s celiac disease, so food awareness is essential.
• They value a proactive, energetic, and self-sufficient assistant who wants to be a part of the family’s day-to-day life.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging with the kids—playing, planning activities, and being actively involved in their lives.
• After-school pickups (shared with mom) and transportation to activities.
• Assisting with cooking and meal prep, keeping in mind the family’s gluten-free dietary needs.
• Laundry and light household tasks (the family has a separate deep cleaner).
• Noticing what needs to be done—a self-starter who takes initiative.
• Researching activities, events, and outings for the kids.
• Providing occasional evening or overnight support when needed.

Requirements:

• Must be proactive, organized, and energetic—able to keep up with active children!
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Experience with gluten-free diets or willingness to learn (son has celiac).
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license—you must have your own vehicle.
• Comfortable working in a home environment and collaborating with a SAHM.
• Looking for someone who wants to grow with the family and build a long-term relationship.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $35 to $40 per hour, based on experience.
• Monthly insurance contribution.
