Job Title: Personal Family Assistant – Flexible, Hybrid Role
Location: Washington, D.C. (Remote with weekly in-person meeting)

A busy, dynamic family in Washington, D.C. is seeking a proactive, organized, and flexible Personal Family Assistant to support their household and administrative needs. This is a unique hybrid opportunity to work remotely with occasional in-person meetings, providing flexibility while ensuring the family’s administrative, personal, and household affairs run smoothly. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and capable of managing various tasks with efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Light bookkeeping, managing household (and potentially business) email correspondence, scheduling appointments, booking travel arrangements, and paying bills.
  • Household Management: Oversee and coordinate household help and vendors, assist with household scheduling for both husband and wife, and manage home maintenance or repairs.
  • Errands: Running occasional errands such as picking up dry cleaning,  supplies or groceries.
  • Pet Care: Provide occasional assistance with the family’s two large dogs as needed.
  • Organizational Help: Create easy-to-follow systems to keep the household and administrative tasks organized, especially helping the principal manage tasks with ADHD in mind.
  • Family Activity Research: Light research to plan family activities or travel, ensuring all details are handled smoothly.

What Works Best for the Family:

  • Go with the Flow: The family values flexibility and someone who can adapt to changing needs.
  • Proactive and Organized: The ability to anticipate needs, develop organizational strategies, and manage tasks efficiently. Someone who is Type-A in their organization and can come in and create order.
  • Sense of Humor: A lighthearted, positive attitude is appreciated!
  • Self-Starter: Someone who takes initiative and makes decisions without waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Discreet and Trustworthy: Respecting privacy is a must, along with maintaining professionalism.
  • Flexible and Detail-Oriented: The role can be part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s availability and fit. Hours are flexible, with the expectation of consistent, reliable work and one in-person meeting per week to touch base face-to-face with the principal and handle any tangible needs. Potential for there to be more time spent in the home if needed, i.e. if a vendor or repair is needed and the candidate needs to be at the home to oversee.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and complete work on time.
  • Comfortable with Dogs: The family has two large dogs, so a love for pets is essential.
  • Strong Communicator: The ability to communicate clearly and efficiently, ensuring the family stays on track with household and business affairs.
  • Problem-Solver: The principal prefers action over hesitation, so decisiveness is key. It’s okay to make mistakes as long as you take initiative!

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a hybrid work style, working remotely but values in-person touch points to maintain a smooth operation. If you're a flexible, organized, and proactive individual who thrives in an ever-changing environment, this could be the perfect role for you!

Compensation:

Competitive pay based on experience and whether the role is full-time or part-time. Hours and schedule are flexible for the right candidate.
