Weekend Special Needs Caregiver

Position: Weekend Caregiver
Location: Lebanon, NJ
Rate: $35/hour
Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays 9am – 9pm; can also add Fridays from 3pm – 9pm if needed (24-30 hours)

Friendly family in Lebanon, NJ is seeking a loving and compassionate Caregiver to provide care and support for their 28-year-old autistic son who is non-verbal and has seizures. He needs supervision at all times. He likes to entertain himself by listening to music, swinging outside and playing with toys. 

The Ideal Candidate: Will have experience with special needs and some medical training. He has occasional seizures so knowledge of what to do if/when that happens is helpful. Must possess a warm, patient, and understanding nature. The Caregiver will be responsible for assisting with daily routines and providing companionship for the son. 

The family has an a separate apartment if the Caregiver wants to stay over.

Responsibilities:

• Support him with activities of daily living, including showering, dressing and using the toilet 
• Engage with him in activities that promote his well-being and development
• Provide emotional support and create a nurturing environment
• Maintain open and regular communication with parents

• Preferred medical experience.
• Prior experience with special needs.
• Must have a current driver's license.
