Family Cook/Household Assistant (Shared Housekeeping/Childcare)

Job Title: Family Cook & Household Assistant (Shared Housekeeping/Childcare) on the UES of Manhattan!

Are you an energetic and organized individual with a passion for cooking and following recipes, a talent for keeping things clean and in order, and a love for children? We are seeking a dedicated and long-term Family Cook & Household Assistant to join our dynamic and welcoming family. This role is perfect for someone who loves a busy, fulfilling work environment and enjoys working with children.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include Cooking, Light Housekeeping (with a heavy focus geared towards the Kitchen), and helping with laundry and childcare (more of a "tag team" or "divide and conquer" strategy. The family is looking for a real team player!  
***Experience and comfort following recipes is a must! Kosher cooking experience is a huge plus but not required.***

The family currently has a schedule that works for them as described below:

• Monday: Deep clean ovens and stove, food prep, cooking/baking, and assisting with children in the late afternoon.
• Tuesday: Deep clean fridges and freezers, dinner prep/cooking, and assisting with children.
• Wednesday: Food prep, washing/ironing linens and clothes, and assisting with children.
• Thursday: Extensive food prep and cooking for Shabbat, and assisting with children.
• Friday: Continued food prep and cooking for Shabbat, and assisting with children. Hours on Friday are 10 AM – 8 PM.
• Follow recipes and directions with ease.
• Assist the nanny and housekeeper with various tasks as needed, including organizational projects if time permits.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proactive, with a young energy.
• Flexible with hours, as needed, including early mornings, and late evenings, when requested. Overnights may be needed as well.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally (Family has three major trips a year and several smaller trips).
• Honest, loyal, and trustworthy with a clean social media presence.
• Adaptable and able to work harmoniously with other household staff.
• Active and physically fit to handle the demands of the job.
• Organized and detail-oriented.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $32 per hour.
• 2 weeks PTO

Current Staff: Full-time Nanny (works M-F, 8:00 am-7:00 pm), Full-time Housekeeper (works M-F, 9:00 am-7:00 pm)
Home SQFT: Approx. 3,800 Sq. Ft.

Position Responsibilities

• Shared Childcare: 04 Children, Ages 8 years, 5 years, 3.5 years and 1.5 years – Shared Childcare with Mom and other Nanny but will never have all 4 children alone.
• Shared Housekeeping: Shared Housekeeping Required – Mostly Kitchen-focused cleaning and maintenance as described above.
• Cooking: Help Start/Prep for Dinner, Plain Cooking Required, Family Meals, Kosher Cooking. – Experience and comfort following recipes is a must! Kosher cooking experience is a huge plus but not required.
• Laundry: Family Laundry
• Ironing: Yes
• Errands: Dry Cleaners; Post Office, Etc.
• Driving: Not Required
• Travel: Domestic and International Travel Required

Position Requirements

• Work Hours: M-TH: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM with flexibility to work extended hours, if needed. 
• Languages: English – Must be able to communicate well in English
